Summary- Division into two sub groups- Litho and Spin Coater, Have a working Spin Coater and show progress on Litho by SemiX, some logistical and technical discussion, and distribution of tasks.

Decisions taken-

• Proceed with 1080p projector(same DMD chip as that used by Huygen’s Optics) - try to buy one second hand.
  • Unsure about how much advantage 4k with XPR gives(folks at hackerfab are unsure too)
  • 4k projectors are expensive
  • 4k projectors are not as easily available here.
  • 1080p should be good enough for the first iteration.
  • Why not dev board?
    • Unsure how easily available it is.
    • More expensive
    • We don’t really need to go into firmware right now- or optimise for vibrations.
    • We can buy projector second hand but not dev board.
• Split focus into two tasks- spin coater and litho.
  • Spin Coater is cheaper and simpler, we can have a working spin coater by SemiX.
  • Having working hardware to show at SemiX will legitimise us as a team that can get stuff done.
  • Litho we just need to present something that can create confidence that we will be able to build the litho.
    • Detailed design and BOM(components we can get)
    • Maybe an MVP of some sort to show(just getting an image on a stage)

Needs Deliberation-

• Do we need another person(preferably a sophie who is freer and enthusiastic about this)?
  • Will circle back to this once we have a better idea regarding spin coater at 20th August meeting(add to agenda)
  • Elec Sophies- Contact Nimay/CR
  • Other department sophies- figure something else out

Specific Technical Discussion

Litho-

• Z-axis control - Can use NEMA stepper only, with planetary reduction gear.
• Don’t need too much precision in x and y.
• Can use old 3d printer, find a cheap xy stage or make one.
• Optics- reach out to vendors to find comparable parts(both Indian and Chinese)
