• Real 4K: Native panel resolution ≈ 3840×2160 (UHD) or 4096×2160 (DCI 4K).
• Fake 4K: Specs will say things like “supports 4K input” but the native resolution is much lower (e.g., 1920×1080 or even 1280×720). (They might still advertise their resolution as 3840 x 2160)
• Check projector communities/reviews.

Key giveaway phrases:

• “Supports 4K” instead of “Native 4K”
• “Scaled to 4K” or “Upscaled from…”
• “XPR” or “pixel shifting”

If we use 4k resolution, it gives us 4 times the number of pixels to specify our pattern.

Gut feeling says that pixel shifting will not work well for our application- take inputs from others.

Will we get significant advantage over a 1080p- gut says that it is wiser to just go ahead with a native, cheaper 1080p projector(Native 4k would be way too expensive)
